JONATHAN HAMMOND

MANAGING DIRECTOR

I joined the family business at an unripe age of 16, in 1986. Learning from the very bottom up (and yes, I did sweep the floors and stack shelves), I very quickly developed a passion for the business, and the industry we are in.

Whenever it is commented on how I have developed the business, and made it as successful as it is today, I point out it is my Father, Tony, who did all the hard work in starting the business from scratch, developing supplier relationships and creating a business known for its customer service. Many a time I would hear Tony say ‘Nothing is too much trouble’! It’s from Tony I have learnt how important integrity is, and this has been the bedrock for our company values.

Having always had great enthusiasm for exceptional customer service, my most enjoyable moments are when I have the opportunity to exceed our customer’s expectations.

I believe that a strong team is the most important part of any business, and that is why I am so delighted with the people I work alongside.

A bit about me....

I have been married to Lucy since 2000, and have two beautiful girls, and a fabulous son. We spend as much time as we can at Abersoch, where I enjoy fishing, water skiing, and towing my children and their friends in a ‘donut’.

Whenever I can, I love to be out on one of my bikes, (Road or Mountain), around the leafy Cheshire Lanes, either with my children or friends. I also enjoy playing the Piano, and that is why I am still having lessons after 15 years.

Occasionally I manage to get to The Lake District where I like to get up on top of the Mountains, or pedal around the Lakes on my Mountain Bike.
