Black Tomato Gin

100% vegetarian and organic, Black Tomato Gin is a robust and powerful spirit with lots of different flavours at play. Rich dark fruits are obvious and followed by pleasant spices on the palate. The powerful fruitiness of the tomato is balanced by its own tanginess and the peppery kick of juniper.

Black Tomato Gin is born in the authentic harbor of Bruinisse, a small fishing village with a long tradition in fishing mussels. The distillery is facing the clear waters of the Oosterschelde which is the biggest National Park of the Netherlands.

After many testing and tasting sessions our master distiller Meindert Kampen came up with a delicious artisan distilled Black Tomato Gin.

Besides secret botanicals we use drops of fresh salt Oosterschelde water and homegrown great- tasting black tomatoes.
Our distillery is one of the rare distillers in the Netherlands to have its own traditionalmalt-floor, stone floor for the sprouting of steeped malting-grains.

We are proud that we can make traditional organic malt-wine using the best ancient ingredients from our provincie.
Black tomatoes contain a high amount of healing anthocycanen. These compounds occur in vegetables and fruit. Some believe that the antioxidants could help diabetes, cancer and obesity. We harvest our own biological crop so we grow the most honest and delicious black tomatoes possible.

Black Tomato – Perfect Serves

French 47
45 ml Black Tomato Gin
15 ml lemon juice
7.5 ml sugar syrupTop with Champagne as we prefer.
Add gin, lemon juice and syrup to a cocktail shaker with ice.
Shake. Strain into an empty glass.
Top up with champagne. Garnish with lemon peel.
Red Snapper

30 ml Black Tomato Gin
120 ml BIG TOM tomato juice
15 ml lemon juice
2 pinches celery salt
2 grinds black pepperUse the salt and pepper to rim your glass Add the rest of the ingredients to a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake. Strain into your glass.
Add half a celery stick to garnish.
Basil Smash

50ml Black Tomato gin
1 bunch basil leaves (if in doubt as to how much, go heavy on the basil)
25 ml fresh lemon juice
15 ml sugar syrupPlace basil and lemon into a cocktail shaker. Gently muddle the lemon and basil “smashing” the ingredients. Add sugar syrup and gin and top up with ice. Shake vigorously (the phrase “Hulk Smash!” comes to mind).
Double strain into an ice-filled rocks glass. Garnish with basil leaves.
