Koshihikari Echigo Beer is a rice lager beer that uses a super-premium short
grain rice called Koshihikari. Produced in the ideal rice growing region of
Niigata Prefecture, Koshihikari is known to be the best quality rice in Japan. Local
water and Koshihikari are combined in this clean, crisp lager.

As an industry leader that begun as a brewpub (in 1994), ECHIGO BEER is Japan's first microbrewery. In 2000, Echigo won the gold prize at the Millennium Competition held in the U.K. as well as the gold prize at the Monde Selection held in Belgium. In 2009, ECHIGO BEER Koshihikari, red ale and stout won the silver prize at the Monde Selection in Belgium. In 2018 Echigo Beer Koshihikari won Silver at the New York International Beer Competition and Red Ale won Gold.
