Balvenie 12 yr - Double Wood
The Balvenie 12 Year Old DoubleWood is a landmark in the whisky world, credited with popularizing the \"cask finishing\" technique. Created by legendary Malt Master David C. Stewart MBE in 1993, it remains one of the most consistent and \"friendly\" Speyside malts available. The \"DoubleWood\" name refers to its two-stage maturation: it spends at least 12 years in traditional American oak (ex-bourbon) barrels before being moved to Spanish oak ex-Oloroso sherry casks for an additional nine months.
